all my wips are spiralling out of control. anyway here's kuwagami again
“Slow down.” Kuwana spoke over him. “And breathe. You’re panicking again.”
Yagami went quiet and did as he was told, but only because it sounded like a good idea. Breathed in, out. Kuwana listened as he did.
“It’s just me.” Kuwana told him. “Talking to me isn’t a big deal, alright? You don’t have to be like this, like you’re... scared, or something. It’s not like you.”
Yagami laughed, ringing hollow even in his own ears. “Scared?”
“Then what is it?” Kuwana prompted. “That you feel about me?”
His heart supplied the word immediately, but it caught in his throat awkwardly. He choked around it, unable to get it out. Yagami’s mouth was open, but he didn’t say it, didn’t know if he could, if he wanted to.
#sunday six#for those of you who follow the kuwagami ao3 tag: this is a continuation of terrible awful realisation#and yes you can see yagami is suffering AGAIN#i love making him have a crisis over kuwana it's funny#but even funnier is kaito and sugiura trying to help yagami with his lover's spat because kuwana refused to answer yagami's phone call#unfortunately i wrote that weeks ago so even though i think it's gold it does noooooot qualify for sunday six#i started writing this a while ago but i've only just started to steer this towards a resolution 🙏thank god!#reading this with fresh eyes though. there is some funny stuff in there if i don't say so myself. i'm excited to show it when i finish#anyway i'm getting ahead of myself.... gotta finish first.....#the aforementioned out of control wips are:#senseific (always). this fic. yuuko fic. and then a previously unmentioned yui mamiya fic#it's so hard having the biggest brain ever /jk#well i guess it's good since i can just swap projects when i get tired of one#though it feels a little bit unweldy

Just A Mirage
Hello I'm outting myself as the ──★ ˙🍓anon from @ghoulphile. Anyways they've inspired me to fall face first dip my toe back into writing and might as well share the brain rot with the class. This is my first time writing smut or anything relatively like this so any questions comments critques are welcome! I dont bite unless you want me to
pairings: cooper howard x fem!reader rating: 18+ MDNI! warnings: bondage, degradation, pet names, mentions of age gap (obviously), Cooper Howard being a jackass in general, canon typical chem use, smoking AO3 Link
You were tired, thirsty, and hungry. Your rations had been finished earlier that morning though it was not by your hand. The tall ghoul who looked like he had walked right off the set of one of those western movies with his cowboy hat, ragged leather duster, and shotgun strapped to his back had stolen the last of your food and water while you stepped away to relieve yourself. You had come back to him chewing on your stash of jerky while letting his scruffy companion, “Dogmeat”, drink straight from your water flask. You learned quickly that no matter what, he’d treat the dog better than you. He kept you on a leash, his lasso was tied around your waist and tethered to the weapon belt that might as well have been fused into his skin. Anytime you weren’t keeping pace he’d give a rough tug of the rope, causing it to bite into your belly. Argued it’s easier to keep track of you that way.
While you lamented over the loss of your food and water and debated if hiring the old ghoul was a smart choice something catches your attention stopping you in your tracks. Along the edge of the tree line, you spot the remains of what looked like a house, bigger than any house you’ve come across. The roof and windows were still somewhat intact and something that looked like brick peeked through the vines that had taken over the structure. You felt the bite of the rope at your stomach.
“Now, I done told you what’ll happen if I gotta tug this damn rope again…” the Ghoul threatened from in front of you.
“I saw someth-”
“You ain’t seen nothin’,” he spat. “A mirage. Just that pretty lil’ head of yours playin’ tricks sweetie.” He tugged the rope again, urging you to move along not even bothering to look in the same direction as you.
Sweetie. Whenever he called you that you could feel the heat of a thousand rads shoot through your body, making your blood boil.
“Maybe my mind wouldn’t be playing tricks if I still had my food and water!” You didn’t budge, refusing to play his stupid game. You were in charge, hiring him to escort you to the Old World Wall safely.
He turned to face you, his eyes hidden by the brim of his hat but his features were twisted into a scowl. “What was that lil lady?”
He didn’t scare you. You cleared your throat. “I said. I NEED water. You don’t get any caps or vials if I’M dead!” He stays silent, still glaring. A month's supply of vials upon arrival was on the line and he knew it. You point towards the treeline. “I saw a house over there. We're out of rations and it's getting dark. Can we at least set up camp there?”
His answer is wordless, whistling a command to Dogmeat to run ahead to the house. He gives another tug at the rope, commanding you to follow behind him, a cautious hand at his holster.
The inside of the house was far nicer than the outside led you to believe. While everything appeared to be overrun by nature the original bones were still there. Holey yet plush couches formed a sitting area around a fire pit that recessed into the tattered wall. The floorboards creaked and moaned under the new weight as the three of you walked around making sure the area was clear. Dusty paintings littered the walls, images nearly impossible to make out in the dim light.
“Now smoothie,” the Ghoul started, taking a quick break to puff his inhaler, “I’mma take you off yer leash and scope the perimeter ‘fore we hunker down.”
You nod, happy to have some relief from the scratchy fibers of the rope and to get some sort of break from your freakish travel partner. Not that you didn’t hate him but the way he spoke and stole from you did wear on your nerves. All of the stupid pet names that cowboy gave you did something to you. You couldn’t place it, a warm feeling in the pit of your stomach, a milder feeling of what he did when he’d make a pass at you. And despite how much he annoyed you, you found him strangely attractive. On those sleepless night when you were sure he was sleeping, you’d study his features, imagining his strong hands around you as he pulled your hips down onto his, his cock hitting your core just right making your back arch and pulling the same loud cries of pleasure you had heard him pull from others in the adjacent room of whatever hostel would allow a ghoul and his dog.
The smell of viscera and tobacco cloud your senses, and you feel a gloved hand around the back of your neck, ripping you back to reality. “And be good for me while I’m gone.” The heat of his breath travels down your neck and straight between your thighs.
You watch as he slinks away, stopping at the crumbling doorway—a dark shadow masking the top half of his face. “Oh and sweetheart,” he pulls a cigarette from one of the pockets of his duster, lighting it before he continued, “be a doll an’ rangle somethin’ up for dinner. Ain’t much in the mood for ass jerky t’night.” He flashes you a smile from underneath his hat before leaving, Dogmeat happily cantering after him.
The house is larger than it looks on the inside and despite its current state of ruin, you could see it in all of its glory, like one of those fancy houses you see in the movies. People smiling and laughing around a table piled with food, dressed in the most beautiful clothes that shimmered against the light. Women with beautifully painted faces and clean, perfectly styled hair. Those movies always made you wonder about the world before the bombs, before everyone wanted to kill everyone else, before the fear of radiation.
You find your way into the kitchen, cracked black and white tiles decorate the floor, dingy teal cabinets matching the Atomic Queen appliances hug the walls. You take care to peek behind every cabinet door checking for any food or water that might have been missed by whoever came through here last. You manage to find some unlabeled booze and canned food tucked behind the remains of some long abandoned animal nest, while it isn’t much at least you’ll be able to eat tonight. In another cabinet you find some Sugar Bombs, the box is dented and beat up but surprisingly unopened, lucky you.
You move towards the back of the kitchen, finding yourself in a small dark room. The smell of mildew and rot is so strong your stomach would've turned if it wasn't already empty, it's so bad you couldn't bother to examine the shelves that lined the wall. You make a mental note to ask the Ghoul to check for loot, of the two of you, he had the stronger stomach to rifle through damn near anything. Pushing through the door to the other side, fresh air greets you, a welcomed relief to your lungs. The very last dregs of sunlight shine through the windows that made up the roof, tall green trees kiss the glass in a desperate attempt to break free. If it wasn't for the roof you would've sworn you accidentally found your way outside.
With one hand on the holster of your knife you creep with the brick of the wall at your back, slowly examining the plants in front of you. You recognized a few, Daffodils, Marigolds, even Tato vines. However a majority were new to you; large flowers the size of your head, and plants that seemed to grow from the roof. You spot some pear and apple trees with the largest fruits you’ve ever seen further into the room. As you found your way to the perpendicular wall, you noticed that it was made of a giant window. You remember seeing building plans for something similar in a pre-war book years ago, a glass house that kept the plants inside at the ideal temperature. For whatever reason the plants in this glass house were thriving on neglect, carrying on with life as if the bombs never dropped.
BANG!
The sound makes you drop to the ground, covering your head. Whatever it was you just hope it was coming from the Ghoul.
Just as you're about to get up, something catches your eye. You crawl towards the brush to get a closer look, little red fruits perched on vines decorated with white flowers cover the dirt by your feet. You pluck one, rolling it between your fingers the skin is rough, yellow dots littering the surface of the red flesh. The sweet scent of the fruit travels to your nose and entices your palate you know better than to put anything in your mouth. Instead, you procure the small tin that you use to store food from your bag and fill it with the mystery fruit.
BANG!
Hastily you shove the container back in your bag, whatever was going on outside had you a fair bit more concerned now that you could hear Dogmeat barking wildly. You quickly get up and make your way out of the glass house, through the dark storage room, and past the kitchen. Not stopping until you've collided with a large solid mass, sending a plume of dust into the air as your ass hits the cushion of the couch.
“You’re ‘sposed to say ‘scuse you after runnin’ into a fella sweetheart.”
You look up, your eyes meet the dark shadow of the Ghoul's from under his hat. Yellowed teeth show through as he grins wide. You look down to see in his gloved hand are two Rad Rabbits, in the other an unopened can of purified water. Relief washes over you, knowing that your dinner would be more than just Cram and Sugar Bombs.
“I believe a thank you's in order.” His stupid handsome grin growing even wider. Clearly proud of himself despite him having taken down much harder prey.
You glare at him before softening, in some way, you feel like this is his way of apologizing for earlier. Any time he pissed you off he would at least make up for it with his actions. Stolen stimpak? Within the next day, you'd find it replaced along with a bag of RadAway. A few bottle caps would find their way into your bag too, when you brought it up to him he'd deny it, telling you to keep a better eye on your shit.
“Thank you,” you pause, it just dawned on you that you didn't know his name. He was the Ghoul, the Cowboy, your escort across the wasteland. But no name to attach to him. You fish for a polite title for him, and if you knew him better you would've punctuated your gratitude with a kiss, yet the older man didn't seem like one for physical contact. “Thank you, Sir.” Is what you land on.
His smile fades as if your gratitude offends him and he tosses rabbit carcasses into your lap.
“Make sure Dogmeat gets her fair share. She found ‘em after all.” He says, patting the mutt beside him before making his way to the firepit, and lighting another cigarette.

The Red-Eyed Boy pt. i
Pt. Two | Three | Outtake
Alec x Swan!Fem!Reader
Summary: When Edward goes to the Volturi seeking death he accidentally exposes Bella's sister. Not taking any chances Alec is sent to finish you.
Warnings:
I haven't written ff in forever soooo...
Also I have trouble with the whole Y/N thing.
Language
Kinda, sorta NSFW I guess? Lot's of kissing.
Word Count: 1,938
A/N: Alec is aged up.
Aro let his mouth twist into a cruel smirk. Apparently, the Swan girl was dead, a sad waste of possible talent he lamented silently, but what was done was done. Edward had had no intention of turning her anyway, so what did it matter?
However, there had been another problem that Edward hadn't meant to expose.
Her sister.
"NO!" Edward shouted. "No! No, she's not aware. She doesn't know-"
"Now, now Edward. We cannot take chances, you know this. The girl already has her suspicions."
Edward's face crumpled into a half snarl. Going to the Volturi for your own death was one thing, but not only had he been denied this sweet relief, he had sentenced another to death. Surely he could get them to understand that Y/N was completely in the dark. Sure she had suspicions but that was just it. Suspicions. And aside from a few shopping trips with Alice (in which Alice had to practically drag Y/N out of the house in an attempt to get to know her better) she had stayed relatively far away. What Bella should have done, he thought with a cringe.
"Alec." Aro called over his shoulder.
Alec was at his master's side in less than a second, staring blankly ahead and awaiting orders.
"You are to head the Swan household in Forks. Take care of Bella's sister."
"Of course Master."
Alec gave a bow before sharing a look with his own sister and heading out of the throne room; Edward's renewed attempt at talking Aro into sparing the other Swan girl's life fading away ever so slightly. He couldn't help but smirk. Fresh blood that didn't have to be delivered. A chance to hunt. Maybe he would play with his food before he finished her off. Make her run. Make her beg. Or perhaps... a different kind of begging. A begging brought on with kisses and meaningless words whispered in her ear. His smirk twisted into a smile. There were always different ways to play, right?
Dad,
I'm with Alice. Edward's in trouble. You can ground me when I get back. I know it's a bad time. So sorry. Love you so much.
Bella
"You gotta be fucking kidding me."
With a groan I let the letter slip from my fingers and back to its original place on the kitchen counter. I knew Bella was still healing, but never in my wildest dreams did I picture her dropping everything and just taking off for the boy who dumped her.
I paused, leaning against the counter with my head in my hands, wondering if I should just go ahead and call dad or wait to break the news to him when he got home. On the one hand if I called him now, it would distract him from his job... however if I didn't tell him now and he finds out I knew before he got home, I could possibly land myself in hot water and get grounded myself. And oh boy was Bella going to get grounded. Probably for the rest of the year if not her life.
She probably figured I'd find the letter first and would butter dad up anyways. Soften the blow that his eldest daughter went missing with a barely half-assed explanation. Well, she would be wrong about the latter at least. She'd be dealing with dad by herself on that one. As much as I loved her, I didn't want to be mixed up in her shenanigans.
Mind made up, I picked up my cell to make the dreaded call, and as expected dad picked up on the first ring.
"Uh, hey dad..."
I'm dreaming of him again. The boy with the red eyes.
He was standing in front of a familiar house, just watching. Waiting. I could see it in his eyes as they flicked back and forth. He was contemplating something, his head tilting just slightly as he took in the sloping roof and the off-white siding that was in severe need of cleaning. A truck and police car rested in its driveway, silent and empty.
My heart leapt. Why was he in front of my house? I'd dreamt of this boy plenty of times before, but never had he been in my own yard. Or anywhere I was even familiar with.
Instead, he was usually shrouded by a fine black mist. Sometimes, if I was lucky enough, he would simply be doing something rather mundane, like reading a book or walking in a garden. Other times my dreams would be rather violent, and I could hear the screaming of his victims as he ripped them to shreds. Then there was the girl that usually stood by his side. If the boy was violent, she was easily a hundred times worse. It was like watching a horror movie come to life and I couldn't close my eyes. I found that I didn't want to close my eyes. He was fascinating to me.
Or maybe it's because I'm a weird and sick individual.
He circled around to the back of the house now, his eyes trailing upwards until they landed on the second-floor window, a smirk beginning to curl on his lips.
My window.
I woke up with a gasp, clutching at my sheets.
What the fuck?
My imagination was finally getting away from me.
I couldn't help but look towards my window, still tightly shut and locked, only the soft glow of fairy lights winking back at me. Untangling myself from my sheets, I slipped from my bed and plodded over to the window. Nothing's out there, I thought. It's a stupid dream. They've all been stupid dreams. The red-eyed boy doesn't exist, Y/N. I unlocked the window and pushed it upwards before sticking my head out and looking around. Of course, I couldn't see worth shit but I squinted my eyes anyway, you know, just in case it would help me see better.
The yard was dark and empty. No handsome, red-eyed boys anywhere to be found.
I almost breathed a sigh of relief before a loud jingle broke through the silence, causing me to jump and slam my head into the window.
"Fuck." I hissed, cradling the spot that I could now feel a nice bruise forming.
It took me a moment to realize that the jingle was coming from my phone. Scrambling towards my dresser I managed to trip on the sheets I'd thrown off just minutes ago and go crashing to the floor. Tonight was just not my night. Despite my new entanglement, I reached up and managed to grab my phone, flipping it open without looking at the caller ID.
"Y/N? Y/N?" The voice on the other end was frantic.
Bella. I finally let out a breath I didn't realize I had been holding, the tension easing from my shoulders for the first time in days.
"Who else would it be?"
Despite my irritation and anger from her stunt I couldn't help but crack a grin as relief flooded through me. She was safe. I could already feel the hysterical laughter bubbling up. But that was quickly quashed as a new voice spoke from behind me.
"You're just as clumsy as your dear sister."
I whirled around and promptly dropped the phone as my eyes took in the dark figure standing at my feet. He was beautiful. Sinfully so. Dressed in all black, his pale skin stood out all the more. Agonizingly perfect and flawless, with dark hair sweeping across his forehead. And his eyes. Oh those eyes. My dreams didn't do them justice. Didn't do any piece of him justice.
"You." I breathed; eyes wide.
He suddenly tensed as our eyes met.
"You." He repeated.
Before I could blink, he was right before me, a gloved hand cradling my face. My mind was going haywire, trying to comprehend just what was happening. What was this pull I was feeling? What is this warmth? Did he feel it too?
"Your eyes." I whispered.
He arched a brow in amusement. "What of them?"
"They're beautiful. Like- like rubies." I stuttered quietly, feeling myself flush. "Am- am I dreaming again?"
Now both brows shot up. He probably thought I was crazy. And at this point he would be right. The boy that I had literally been dreaming about since I was a child was right in front of me.
"Y/N!"
The faraway crackle of my phone pulled me back to reality and I slowly picked it up, watching the boy in front of me. He made no move to stop me, only brushing a cool thumb across my cheek.
Wait, when had he lost the glove?
"I- I'm here."
"Did you hear anything I said?"
It was Alice Cullen
"Er- no."
"Listen," Alice began hurriedly. "I know this a lot to take in, but Alec isn't going to hurt you. It's- mates are a complicated thing in the vampire world."
"I'm sorry, what now?" I blinked rapidly as I tried to process what she was saying.
There was a low growl before I felt the phone being taken from my hands gently. I would be lying if that growl hadn't sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
"Cullen. Given your talent I think you would know that Y/N is perfectly safe with me." He leaned in as he tilted my head back, his nose running along my neck. "She is my mate after all."
My breath hitched at not only his words but the little nips and licks he began to trail along my neck, cool against my flushed skin. Oh gods, this could not be legal.
"Please inform Aro that Bella's sister will be coming to stay with us soon."
With a click he snapped the phone shut and molded his lips mine. I was pretty sure that my heart was about to beat out of my chest. Finally, he let me come back up for air with a small nibble on my bottom lip and burying his face back into my neck, his hands running down my sides in a slow caress.
"So- so you're Alec?"
He let out an actual purr at the sound of his name. "Say it again."
"You know people usually introduce themselves before making out right?"
There was a growl in response, and I almost let out a moan. Oh fuck, please stop doing that. It was doing weird things to my body.
"Alec."
He lifted himself up to look at me again, eyes no longer that beautiful ruby red but nearly pitch black. He kissed me again and again, swiping his tongue along my lower lip before delving into my mouth with a hunger that shot heat straight between my legs. This time I moaned. He chuckled as he pulled away, placing light kisses along my jaw until he reached my ear and nibbling yet again. Lord did this boy like to nibble.
"I will be back, mio cara."
Suddenly he disappeared just as my door opened and my dad stood there looking rather alarmed. I just blinked at him in a daze.
"I heard voices." He grumbled, looking for all the world like he had just rolled out of bed... which he had.
I felt my face heat back up, trying to figure out exactly what he had heard and trying to come up with an excuse.
"Uhm. I heard from Bella!"
For once my sister saved the day.

notes | i'm back and happy birthday to our dearest nana <3 i originally wanted to finish everything so i could post it for his birthday but i think it's better i don't rush the writing for this one,, hence the teaser :D likes and rbs are highly appreciated!
m.list → send in an ask or reply to be added to the taglist!
your breathing turns ragged and heavy as you try keeping up with jaemin’s own feet — your only passing thought wondering how the boy in front of you hasn’t faltered a bit from his brisk jog amidst the empty school hallways.
the two of you were tasked to submit the class attendance folder to the teachers lounge at 7 in the morning, a daily hinderance to someone who’d rather laze around in the classroom to get a couple more minutes of sleep before the first bell would ring, someone in the likes of you.
“na jaemin! god, slow the fuck down.” you finally huff, falling behind in your steps to catch your breath.
your classmate turns around on his heel at the call of his name, “maybe you’re simply too slow, angel.” he flashes an award-winning grin while tightly holding the important folder to submit, his actions doing nothing to ease your exhaustion.
“my bad, this angel doesn’t have two feet in the air to fly whenever she wants.” your reply is enveloped in sarcasm, chest heaving at a calmer pace than a few moments prior.
“you gotta live a little, run a bit more. maybe then, you’ll take off.” the quote-esque words have you grimacing at the thought, believing it to be a sense of false, cringe worthy hope provided by the boy.
“the only thing about to fly is my fist to your face, na.” you grumble, an arm ready to hit the boy with full force as soon as your mind gives confirmation to do so.
jaemin brings a hand over your curled-up fist, halting your swing before it even happens. “nuh, uh. you wouldn’t want to risk that on your stellar school record, would you?” he tuts with a knowing look on his face, “how ironic for an angel, indeed.”
“you’re the only one that calls me that anyways.” you retract your hand back down slowly after being flustered by the mention of your student record, still eyeing the boy in front of you — the bright expression on his face remaining in tact.
“it’s because i think it suits you.” he simply puts it, turning his back on you to continue walking towards the teachers lounge.
“and how exactly does that make sense?” you inquire, trailing him from behind, and the boy knows he’s garnered your attention for the second time today.
“why should i trouble myself and explain it further?” he returns the query back in your hands, still looking ahead of him. “do i get something in return?”
“that’s just childish, na. we’re seniors.” you remind him with the roll of your eyes, somewhat glad he couldn’t see you from his position.
“hey, i don’t do things for free.”
“you do class president tasks for free.” you quickly point out, the familiar door that leads the the teachers lounge finally coming into view at the end of the hallway.
“that’s rather inevitable, isn’t it? being in this position just means its part of my responsibilities.” he shrugs, slowing down his movement now that he sees the destination ahead.
“you’re just being boring.” you groan in protest, detesting how the boy is trying to be difficult with you.
he turns around once more, albeit much more abrupt than the first instance, making you almost bump into his back side. “then how’s this? i’ll tell you the reason during the upcoming school festival.”
“fine.” you reply, straightening your clothes out after that brief moment of getting frazzled. “you can’t take that back now, na.”
“wouldn’t dream of it, angel.”

I wanted to make a May the 4th post dedicated to my Star Wars f/os yesterday, but I gotta be honest I just did not have the energy ._. So I'm just gonna do it now though!
I never really talked much about my Star Wars f/os on here because despite having 5 of them (maybe more if you count platonics), they're all secondary f/os and I hardly find the time to dedicate art or writing to them. They still mean a lot to me though and I think they're wonderful and interesting characters, so here they are💕
First up, Grand Admiral Thrawn/Mitth'raw'nuruodo, I first got to know him properly through Rebels (I knew he had existed in the Legends universe before already but didn't particularly care about him) and not going to lie, for a while I found him really annoying. He seemed very arrogant to me and I didn't get how he could always be a step ahead of the rebels, but I learned to understand and appreciate him, and somehow I fell in love with him eventually. At the time he was probably the strongest fictional crush I ever had (this man literally made me question my asexuality at some point - I didn't know that micro-labels like grey-, demi- or fictosexual were a thing back then). I didn't know about the existence of a self ship community back then, but in my head I shipped a character that was basically myself with him (with a few changes of course, like I was 16 at the time but my s/i was obviously a grown adult, the story I had in mind for her wouldn't have made sense otherwise anyway). I also started writing character x reader fanfictions about him! I finished a few one-shots, but the only multi-chapter story I started has unfortunately been laying around abandoned for a few years. I still kind of want to write an ending for it one day, but I don't know when that will happen. I struggled with my feelings for Thrawn after some uncomfortable experience with a former acquaintance in the Star Wars community, but as this is luckily in the past and maybe I can reconnect with him some day (In the meantime I'd love to meet other Thrawn shippers who are comfortable sharing him!). Regardless of that my love for him has had a significant influence on me, because without him I would've probably never made my art instagram account (the first social media account I made aside my personal insta account that I never use) and wouldn't have met many of my wonderful online friends.
Next up, Admiral Ar'alani, she's gorgeous and at least partially responsible for my bi awakening. I mean just look at her! Due to being a book character she's probably kind of underrated and less well known, I'd love to see an animated series about her and the crew of the Steadfast! I loved her in the Thrawn trilogy, I still have to read the Ascendancy trilogy though.
Commodore Karyn Faro probably wins the price for the most underrated f/o among them (also F in the chat for her for having literally 2 canonical depictions in a comic and no other visual reference, that's why I had to choose a slightly silly picture for her). I loved reading from her perspective in the Thrawn trilogy and I always enjoyed her dynamic with him too. Despite having her as an f/o I also ship her with Ar'alani, I think they'd make a cute couple. At the moment her canonical fate is pretty much unknown (I don't think it was ever made clear whether she left the Chimaera to transfer to her own fleet before Thrawn left for Lothal or not?), but although it is unlikely I personally wish that she'd also somehow end up with the Chiss like Eli did and get a happy ending with them.
Tech was just a very relatable character for me, and I knew I'd like him pretty much from the start. I always had a weak spot for this slightly nerdy scientist type of characters (namely Kowalski from TPoM and Mr. Spock from Star Trek TOS), I just never really f/o'd any of them before since I was like 8 years old or so at the time I was obsessed with them. But oh I had so much fun watching Tech, and his quote "I may process moments and thoughts differently, but it does not mean that I feel any less than you"? That hit right in the heart especially since I could relate so much to it. Also he must still be alive, I don't accept that he's gone no matter what the canon says.
Last but not least, I think General Grievous/Qymaen jai Sheelal was actually my second proper fictional crush, but for some reason it took me until last year to properly admit to it? I don't know, apparently 13 year old me was unconsciously in denial about being a monster lover, or just somehow unaware that I could just ship myself or an oc with him and didn't have to pick one of the canon characters. He's a character I'd actually love to come back some time, it's mainly that I'm too focused on my other f/os at the moment, but I think he deserves more love (yes I know he's kind of horrible too, but I think horrible fictional guys can still be loved and cherished).
Anyway this got longer than I anticipated, but at least you have an introduction to some of my secondary f/os now I guess. Anyways I hope you all had a happy Star Wars day, and who knows, maybe some of these guys here will make an appearance on my blog again in the future <3
#I was on the fence whether I should add Darth Vader as well since he used to be one of my fictional crushes#but I consider him an old f/o nowadays and don't know if I'll ever come back to him and I already wrote so much so I decided not to#but the others here are still all important to me💖#I'd also love to see more self ships with them actually I have no issues with sharing them <3#mitthrawnuruodo#thrawn#grand admiral thrawn#ar'alani#admiral ar'alani#karyn faro#commodore faro#tech#tech tbb#general grievous#qymaen jai sheelal#self ship#self shipping community#self insert x canon#f/o appreciation#star wars#may the 4th#happy star wars day#selniasoriginal

I Beat Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
I went ahead and I did it
The urge to go ahead and finish the XIII trilogy after beating XIII-2 won out, and I can finally say I cleared this off the ultimate list of FF games.
Lightning Returns is an interesting one. It's a slow burn kind of game; it took me a bit to really lock in with it, but once I did, I got into a nice flow state with it. It's also a game that simultaneously could work very well by itself, but also feels like it's essential to be the act 2 of XIII-2. It's weird. Not bad! But weird.
Day 1: Gameplay
I think this is where LR shines the brightest.
Combat is. ALMOST like its predecessors. Rather than it being menu selection, you're pressing buttons like an action game; and rather than swapping paradigms, you're swapping between 3 "schemata", which are basically customizable job types that are also a dress-up minigame. You also still have an ATB system... kinda. Rather than a bar that fills up and executes all of the commands you put into it, it's more like an action meter. You can do so much in each schemata before you run out and you gotta wait for it to refill. On paper it sounds entirely different, but with the ATB filling and the schemata switching, I still felt that echo of paradigm switching (especially since I essentially gave myself a commando, ravager, saboteur setup), and the ATB in practice still felt like the ATB of classic. It's different for sure, but still has enough connection to not feel like it's a complete jump away from its prequels. Also, you have these points called "EP" that you get from day start or killing enemies which you can use for things like full cure or esuna, but the big thing I used it for was "Overclock" which slows down time for your enemies while speeding it up for you. It gives you a unique ATB bar that I essentially used to keep up my assault when needed. Very fun once I had enough EP to not worry about using it all up.
Where XIII was a straightforward, classic RPG story that had some side quests, and XIII-2 was more side quest heavy but still sectioned, LR feels like it's ENTIRELY made of side quests, in a way. Even the main story is split up into quests that sometimes require you to do side quests (which was weird if you gotta do them why are they side), plus it had a board of collection quests that you could turn into. If you just looked at XIII, you'd be like "what the fuck happened", but going through the trilogy, I can feel the natural progression. As someone who enjoyed the XIII-2 style quests (plus I'm MMO brained so quests are ingrained in my DNA anyways) I quite enjoyed this style of game organization. It allows you to move back and forth between the areas and their stories, which mixes really well with:
Time management. The big deal about this game that I think MOST people look at and think "oh no". I also thought "oh no" at first. There's not exactly a Majora's Mask style time reset or anything (which I gotta talk more on this topic later) and you don't really have time to sit and rest unless you're in a menu, meaning every single step counts, but it does give you a temporary time stop ability, that uses the same resource as your big combat abilities. I was really unsure of it at first, I didn't know how to handle it, but once I really got the hang of things, I realized that I didn't need to time stop nearly as much as I did, and I was able to strike a good balance. Like I said, I found the flow state of managing quests, travel, teleportation, and still leaving myself with enough for combat buffs. As time passes, different enemies come out, different NPCs appear and disappear, different stores open and close, it makes you think about where you have to be, when you have to be where, and you have to think about your travel time. There's a quest I have to do but they don't appear until 14:00, so I'm gonna sit here and kill guys until like 13:00 where I'm then gonna take the train over there. It was scary and weird at first, but it's a system that I think is improved with knowledge of just how much is in the game.
One last thing I wanted to talk about, is Undertale. This game has a fucking Undertale genocide mechanic (I know Undertale came after but hush shush). There are actually limited enemies in the game (save for a couple), and you can actually completely extinct a species by killing all of them. When you've killed all but one, that one becomes a Last One, which is a hyperpowered hot pink version of that enemy that drops better loot. This also interacts with time management well because as the days go by, enemies drop better abilities for you to use, BUT, you also have to make sure you're giving yourself enough time to do shit AND kill all of everything. This is cool! It's also grindy, which does kinda suck. Having to kill 30 reavers (behemoths) gets mindless after a bit, which CAN be enjoyed, but can also be ugggghhhhhhh. I think I felt both of those emotions. This is at its worst in the final dungeon where there's 3 new monster types that can be killed off, meaning if you wanna kill all of em for the quest that makes you kill all of em, you HAVE to last second grind. Stinks when I just wanna finish the story.
Together, Lightning Returns offers an experience that's actually quite fun, but I think you REALLY HAVE to have the knowledge to make the most of it. It gives me the vibes of something that would be better on subsequent playthroughs, where you really know just how much is in this space.
Day 2: Story
The story this time about is weird. After the world Fucking Explodes in XIII-2, and Lightning turns herself into crystal to have Serah live forever in her memories, she's woken up (numbers) years later by God Himself, who said "hey shit's boutta explode in a few days can you go save a bunch of souls so I can put them in a new world I have your best friend here (he's a kid again don't worry about it) and I'll give you your sister back" and then Lightning goes "ok (unfeelingly)" and does it. Rather than a single focused story, it's split up into 5 main quests you can move back and forth between, all centered around a character from previous games. You got Noel, Snow, Fang, Yeul/Caius/Odin, and Sazh. Between these, and the many side quests, the game is very character based rather than narrative based, I feel, which I certainly don't have a problem with. Characters, I'm coming to realize, are my absolute favorite part of any media and the most important thing to me ever (which I think is why I end up making 20 hour long character sections (coming soon)). As you help people and your friends, you realize God is A Bitch And A Liar, so you go to Kill Him. This culminates in an ending that is 1. INCREDIBLY CHEESY, 2. A nice little celebration of the entire XIII trilogy, and 3. A little stupid. It's nice. It's not the greatest in the series or even the trilogy, but it's nice. Again, it feels like it's the second half to XIII-2, wrapping up everything that that game set up, which stinks a little cause it means it can't hold on its own well, but is nice when you're doing it in sequence.
Day 3: Characters
I've lived with this cast for 3 games now, and LR is, for the most part, a nice bow on everyone's stories/a cool way to take all their characters.
Lightning - Lightning in this game felt more of what I knew than XIII-2. Unfortunately, a major plot point was that her emotions were essentially stripped away for most of it, but it didn't stop the game from showing me her caring about her family and other people, and despite her being God's Servant, it does not prevent her from rebelling against the higher powers when they're being assholes, just like in the original XIII. She's not my favorite protagonist out of the entire series, but I think LR ended her story in a way that made me a lot happier than XIII-2. I also find it really funny that Square's IRL usage of her as a fashion model seriously had its impact on this game with the garb switching, and the fucking ending of her going to France.
Hope - My favorite boy felt off at first. Why was his voice acting like that? The reason? God is a bitch. My boy was relegated to being a child sized costume for a motherfucker; and unfortunately, this half self of him kinda got on my nerves as he Kept Telling Me Things All The Time. I know it's an hour until I get called back. Please stop. At least I can be happy about the fact that the real Hope was actually the force that helped Lightning at the end, right as she helped him. I love the relationship between the two of them, one of my favorites in the series.
Snow - I genuinely think that his role here was NEEDED for his character to go into. For two games, he's been the extreme positive force. A heart of gold and a brain of brick. Challenging this with the failure to protect the one person he loves the most, plus centuries of stagnation and trauma, pushes Snow in a way that I think was really important. I can't say I LOVED seeing him so despondent, but I do think it was the right play. Seeing him at his lowest, yet still coming out on top, and finally, FINALLY, being rewarded with time with Serah, Snow feels like he actually went through the challenge he needed to get the ending he deserved.
Fang - I actually really enjoyed Fang here, because for most of the game, it was between Fang and Lightning. I will say, Vanille is not one of my favorite characters. At all; and unfortunately, Fang's primary character trait is that she is completely devoted to the one person she loves (you CANNOT tell me that this shit isn't romantic), Vanille. This is a good character trait, I just don't care for how it's aimed. But being able to enjoy Fang and Lightning's friendship, as well as Fang starting that fire of rebellion that I loved in XIII, it made me happy. I don't understand your crush girl but go off
Vanille - Going off that point; I understand Vanille. I really do. She feels like she did a lot of pain and wants to make up for it. I just... I can't. I dunno. The vibes are off for me. I think I could have appreciated a little more insight or explanation on WHY she has the power to hear the dead, and How Exactly she's going to save them and not kill them.
Sazh and Dajh - Once again thrown to the sidelines?????? Like, ok. I get it. Compared to the fighters, the ancient warriors, Sazh and his son are pretty much civilians! So in that way, I get it, they get the easy life compared to everyone else. But to see Dajh reduced to a plot point yet again upsets me. I want to see some growth for these guys, cause they deserve it. I even feel that Sazh got snubbed in the ending cause he didn't even get to appear alongside his own Eidolon like everyone else did. I love these two, and I love seeing them happy, but... gimme a little more, man.
Odin - Can I just say, it is SO funny that fucking Odin, classic FF summon, insta-killing warrior, majestic horse transformer, reincarnated into a chocobo? Hilarious. I do love that narrative of him being by Lightning's side, though. I think it could have been strengthened back in XIII-2, but it's still nice.
Noel - This poor fucking guy dude. Living with centuries of failure and loss. He never got a chance to really enjoy and be happy; it made me so sad to see him in the place he was in, and to have that fight against him. I am incredibly glad that he finally got to have an ending with Yeul; it feels like he really got what he deserved after all his torment.
Yeul - I still think she's more of a plot device than a character, but I did really appreciate that LR completed what she is on top of giving more explanation onto Chaos. Chaos is souls, and since every Yeul is intertwined, constantly dying at a young age, all being the same, yet all being different, that's A LOT of soul juice that congeals yet contradicts each other. The reveal that the Yeuls Are Chaos was literally the one thing I needed that completely solidified all the confusion I had from the last game, and how that turned into keeping Caius around, and them entering Etro's place in the new world, made complete sense. Sure, the Yeuls might not be a character, but they're a very VERY cool world aspect. Also they let the last one be with Noel :))))))))))
Caius - He remains an incredibly cool character. LR might not add much to him, but it doesn't ruin him in the slightest. He's still completely devoted to all of the Yeuls, and their wants affect his very being. Him becoming essentially the lord of death was a very cool ending, simply because it means he still reached the only goal he ever wanted. I love Caius, man.
Lumina - She's.... confusing. I didn't understand at a single point what her deal was, and honestly I still don't think I do, but that might just be me being stupid and not literate enough. Why was she summoning cyclops, why did she break Lightning's sword, why did she cause chaos. Just for funny? I guess? Other than that though, I do think the concept of her character was cool. The part of Lightning's soul removed from her; not only is it the part that had Serah, but it's her childhood self, her childhood emotions that she pushed away. The reveal that Lumina is Claire, and not Serah, was a huge one, and I think it was honestly foreshadowed in the fact that Lumina's eyes look more like Lightning's than they do Serah's. Wait, I'm just realizing it now, was she just fucking around cause she was a kid? That makes a lot more sense actually. Anyways, I think I would have liked a little more overt acknowledgement to her appearance. Give me one verbal "why do you look like that". I also enjoyed the bits where she was actually shown to care, like in Sazh's story.
Bhunivelze - God Himself. The biggest ASS that ever lived. What a douche. I think my favorite part about Bhunivelze was the consistency of the fact that he can't do emotions. It was shown in Hope's voice acting and lack of feeling, it was shown in the one part of Lightning that he took away; and it was his ultimate downfall, when that bit of Hope reversed on him, and made him feel shit he cannot comprehend. It's cool to see something so consistent in a character like this. He also serves as your typical JRPG "church bad" archetype, God only cares about his followers and nothing else, which does give me a bit of schadenfreude, shitty as it is. He is willing to lie and manipulate to get his way and get around what he cannot do. Very cool antagonist. Not the best, but very cool.
The game's just a nice tale ender for everyone (except for like, maybe I could have used an extra moment or two with real Serah). It serves as a good celebration of the trilogy, bringing everyone back in some form. Hell, even Cid came back, even if he was just a bunch of souls in a Cid costume.
Day 4: World
I should have mentioned this sooner, but whatever. The world that the game takes place in, Nova Chrysalia, is SUCH a cool concept???? Like, with the gameplay being what it is, if they just separated the story/characters, the world being super unique could absolutely make this game stand on its own. It's the remains of the normal world mashed together with the realm of death. Since the realm of death is also related to time, and it's broken, people Don't Age. Also, since the goddess of death, who deals with reincarnation, is dead, people can't be born. This world is the perfect stagnation that makes the setting of finite time until the end work. It makes systems like the Last Ones work. It's just super cool. It's split up into 4 zones, each having a sort of unique mechanic. You got Luxerion, the holy city and the capital, with a really cool gothic and checkerboard aesthetic spread around; you got Yusnaan, the city of "we're gonna party til we die (think Eulmore from XIV)", that completely changes vibes at night, as well as having a cool coliseum, and a bunch of for flavor restaurants; there's the Wildlands, that serves as that kind of Archylte Steppe-like big area, and is the only place with a chocobo for you to ride; and then finally the Dead Dunes, a big desert with a ruin underneath it. They're all very unique feeling, and I don't feel bored, especially moving between all of them. I think the Dead Dunes are my favorite zone, simply because you get to slide down the sand and it's really really fun. Yusnaan is probably second.
I think the one gripe I have is that the game needs to sell you a little more on the fact that everyone has been exactly the same for like 500 years. I don't know why, but it just feels like it needs a little more fuel in that department to fully immerse me in it. Maybe some more stagnation or apathetic feelings. There was a quest with a girl selling her tears that I think did this right, give me more of that. Also, uh, with this all said:
Day 5: This Is Just Majora's Mask
Hi yeah let's make a game about the end of the world. We're gonna give it a time limit. We're gonna split the world into 4 sections. The game is mainly going to be focused on side quests where you help the people of the world reach their final wishes, and some of them will be based on time of day. Not to mention, in the final dungeon, we're going to let the player either go straight to the final boss, OR they can do 4 mini trials that give them a super powered upgrade right before the final boss.
I could put some of these separately as a coincidence but I'm gonna be real that final dungeon solidified something to me: something's off. There HAS to be inspiration here lmao (none of this affected my enjoyment it's just really really funny)
Day 6: Music
As usual, the music is fucking phenomenal. It's beautiful, it rocks, it's terrifying, it's amazing. Lightning Returns might have one of the Best final boss themes in the entire series and nobody knows cause it's the weird last entry in a trilogy people hated.
I have. One flaw though. I don't... really like how previous battle themes were used as normal battle themes, cause it feels like it takes away the impact. I was walking through the Wildlands at night, when I ran into a Dryad, and suddenly Desperate Struggle starts playing. I think "oh fuck I just ran into a mini boss" and I thought I was right when this dude started doing massive damage and summoned a bunch of clones. Then I ran into a slug and the same song played. I'm not sad to hear those songs because the XIII trilogy does not miss at a single point, but it makes me sad when they all have the same meaning. I'm also really upset since Worlds Collide doesn't ever get to get to the good part since all the Hoplites are dead before it gets going
Day 7: Graphics
XIII's sauce remains. The game still looks good, and they solved that weird facial expression thing that XIII-2 had. I love the consistent checkerboard aesthetic that the Chaos has, spread throughout the game. Also, that fucking final boss battle? Holy shit. Beautiful. How the floor turns into Bhunivelze's fucking robe??????? That's so cool. The final prerendered cutscene was absolutely peak.
just gonna sleep in the inn for a bit now to get to
Day 13: 0 Days Until The End
Lightning Returns is a game in a weird place. I definitely do not think it deserves the reviews it got; I think that is a result of a time mechanic people didn't really give time (lol), as well as being the 3rd entry in a trilogy where people Did Not care for its first entry, but it really doesn't deserve to be one of the lowest rated FF games.
It could honestly work as its own game. You remove all the actual FF bits, and you have a wonderful standalone action JRPG. But in the same vein, it really Only works as a finale to the XIII series. The story, the characters, and even the evolution of gameplay, it only works/it's at its strongest when you've played the previous games. It wraps up bits from XIII-2 in a way that it feels like it was MADE for doing that.
When I started the game, I wasn't vibing with it. You need to give it time. You need to understand it, and know what it offers and how it works to really appreciate it, it's not going to be instant. Although, towards the end of my playthrough, it was getting a little grindy cause I really frontloaded my experience, not really knowing how much content I had, and in how much space. Especially with the NG+ feature, I imagine this game goes hard on your 2nd-on playthroughs. I'd love to see a speedrun or a fully optimized playthrough, that's GOTTA be sick.
7/10. A bit of an awkward experience in places, but in the end a fun, unique experience that also serves as a nice ending to an overhated trilogy. It's also Majora's Mask. Bhunivelze's Savior.

______________________________________________________________
Birthstone Legacy Challenge
Do you like pretty stones? Yes? No? Well, I sure do, and that’s why I’m here today bringing you a fancy lil legacy challenge based around them! I’m a big fan of themed legacy challenges as it kinda gives me a feel for how each generation could go so I figured–why not just make my own!
Note: I narrowed it down to birthstones by month because knowing myself we’d be here for like 30 generations if I didn’t..
Also for some months there’s more than one birthstone! Which means options galore! Those generations will have alternate routes so pick whichever you’d like. Alternatively they could just be extra generations, do whatever you gotta do man.
If you decide to do the challenge, tag me or something idk, show me your sims! With that out of the way, let’s hop into it.
General Rules
This follows most of the original legacy challenge rules–no cheats for unfair advantages, have an heir for each gen, yada yada.
The only one I won’t be including is staying on one lot for the entirety of the challenge. You can if you want to (just be sure to read ahead and plan accordingly), but I like to move around!
Also, you can use all of your sims starting funds to buy your first house/apartment. Or don’t, if you're into that.
Finish all of the assigned goals for each generation.
You don’t have to use all of the traits if you don’t wanna/can’t, just use at least 2-3 of them. Or adapt them to whatever you need, I’ll be listing 5 for each gen anyways so you have a few to pick from.
Generation 1: Garnet ------------------------------------------------------
You’re quite strong, I’ll give you that. A natural warrior and protector at heart, countless people have watched you defend your friends and family to the end. Plus, you can probably count on one hand the number of times you’ve ever gotten sick. You know those kids that dream of becoming a doctor someday? Yeah.. well guess what, that’s you! Time to follow your dreams.
Traits: Brave, Disciplined, Family-Oriented, Ambitious, No Sense of Humor
Career(s): Medical
Color theme (Open Link to View)
Goals:
Reach the top of the medical career track, it’s your dream after all!
Go to the gym at least 3 times a week.
Master the athletic skill.
Have at least 5 friends.
Marry a sim that also has a “protector” career (Ex: firefighter, medical, military, etc.) Perhaps a co-worker would be best for you?
Have at least 4 kids, you want a big family!
Generation 2: Amethyst --------------------------------------------------
A clear head and a sharp tongue, your reputation precedes you. As confident as you are, you tend to keep most at a distance. But you’re allowed to rely on other sims y’know? Take the confidence you have in yourself and share it with others. Well, maybe I’m wrong, maybe there’s a reason you won’t let yourself get influenced by other sims?
Traits: Loner, Perceptive, Genius, Proper, Perfectionist
Career(s): Investigator OR Fortune Teller (Mystic branch)
Color theme (Open Link to View)
Goals:
Get an A in school and get a part-time job as a teenager.
Can’t go to any bars, lounges, etc. You’re not too fond of alcohol.
You can’t make any friends until you’re a young adult.
Master the logic skill.
Once you finally let your guard down, you manage to make a friend! Eventually this friendship turns into a relationship. However this sim isn’t a good influence on you at all…
Must have only 1 child either with that partner or by adoption.
Once you become an adult you realize how unhealthy your relationship has gotten. You dump the toxic partner and vow to never marry or date again.
Buy a hot tub! You earned it, it’s your place of rest and relaxation. Use it at least 2 times a week.
Our first split choice is below! Like I said you technically only have to do one of these but you can do whatever you like.
Generation 3-1: Aquamarine ---------------------------------------------
Nothing quite like the ocean is there? Nobody’s really sure where you got your sea legs but they can’t deny that you have them. I know you joke about running away to live on a deserted island and never coming back but you wouldn’t actually do that.. Right? Well, at least you know how to swim.
Traits: Sailor, Loves the Outdoors, Loves to Swim, Adventurous, Commitment Issues
Career(s): Lifeguard OR Angler OR Scuba Diver
Color theme (Open Link to View)
Note: I HIGHLY recommend playing in a world that has an island, or an ocean at the very least. Sunset Valley is a good choice if you don’t wanna play in a custom world or in Isla Paradiso.
Goals:
Have two best friends growing up and hang out with them at least three times a week.
Live near the beach and visit it at least once a week.
Buy a boat.
Master the scuba diving skill.
Meet a mermaid and have a relationship with them and–oh no.. now YOU’RE a mermaid.
Break things off with the mermaid and confide in your best friends about your newfound supernatural secret, only one of them will believe you. The other thinks you’re making it up and they no longer want to be friends with you.
Fall in love with the friend who has always been there for you and marry them.
Generation 3-2: Bloodstone
You really thought you wanted to become a vampire but… this is nothing like the movies! I mean seriously, did you really think vampires sparkle in the sunlight? What’s that? You want to abolish all of the vampires in the city?? Alright Buffy, do what you’ve gotta do.
Traits: Neurotic, Genius, Excitable, Dramatic, Brave
Career(s): Music OR Law Enforcement OR Alchemist
Color theme (Open Link to View)
Goals:
Have a friend as a child/teen who’s a vampire and once you both age into young adults have them turn you.
Master either the guitar, piano, or bass skill and create a room in your house dedicated to practicing your instrument.
Cure at least 3 vampires of vampirism before curing yourself.
Cure your childhood friend of vampirism, unbeknownst to you however they quite liked being a vampire…
Start a relationship with them and eventually get married. Once you get married you decide to only cure one vampire a week now!
Have no more than 2 kids.
Uh-oh, your spouse has turned back into a vampire! Feeling betrayed, you divorce them.
After your divorce you don’t have to cure vampires anymore, in fact you want nothing to do with them for the rest of your life!
Generation 4: Diamond ---------------------------------------------------
The second you walk into a room all eyes are on you and you know it. Nothing short of arrogant and cocky–you know other people want you, want to be you, you’re the most beautiful sim they’ve ever seen after all. Not to mention you’re tough skinned, even if they don’t like you–who cares? They’re practically the pebbles beneath your feet.
Traits: Snob, Star Quality, Evil, Friendly, Irresistible
Career(s): Film (Acting branch) OR Singer OR Business
Color theme (Open Link to View)
Goals:
Have a strained relationship with your sibling(s), they don’t understand you and why would they? They’re not even on your level.
Be best friends with your parents… You always were their favorite child right?
Have at least 8 friends while growing up.
Live in a mansion/large house.
Become a five star celebrity.
Master the charisma skill.
Fall in love with another celebrity who has at least three of your traits and is in the same career as you. A diamond can only polish another diamond after all.
Buy a car worth over 30,000 simoleons.
Generation 5: Emerald ---------------------------------------------------
You believe in true love. A soulmate. You’ve seen it happen with your parents and you’re determined to have it! Your loyal heart leads you through the world as you’re ready to start fresh. A story always has a beginning and an ending, and yours will have a happy one if you have any say in it.
Traits: Easily Impressed, Friendly, Lucky, Hopeless Romantic, Flirty
Career(s): Writer
Color theme
Goals:
Start learning the writing skill as a child, you’ve gotta put those daydreams somewhere.
Right when you become a young adult, move to a new town (if you’re not moving lots, have the rest of your family move out.)
Go on 5 dates with 5 different sims.
Master the writing skill.
Get desperate and marry a sim that you have nothing in common with. Have at least two kids with them.
Travel and find the love of your life, have an affair. When you return divorce your spouse and remarry the sim you had an affair with.
Publish at least 10 romance/poetry books.
Generation 6-1: Pearl -----------------------------------------------------
Quite the delicate thing aren’t you? That must be why the walls you've built around yourself are higher than the eiffel tower. The world is scary, I know! But for some reason you find it a bit more bearable after the sun goes down and the moon takes its place. Could that have anything to do with some untapped magic running through your veins?
Traits: Perfectionist, Neurotic, Good, Proper, Night Owl
Career(s): Education OR Music (Symphonic Branch) OR Acrobat
Color theme (Open Link to View)
Goals:
Maintain an A in school all throughout your child and teen years.
Dabble around in the alchemy skill and find a way to become a witch.
Own at least two cats.
Reach the top of your career, it’s the only other thing that brings you some solace throughout the day.
Future spouse MUST be human, and you have to become best friends before you begin dating them. Also woohoo is only allowed after marriage.
Cast a curse on a sim with the evil trait.
Master 3 skills, one of them can be the spellcasting skill.
Have 5 children, you want the picture perfect family.

I’ve been thinking about rereading the series and actually writing in to you for each chapter. Most times when you drop I’m reading it at like 1 am cause I have no impulse control and I’m feeling like I need to get back to it with fresh eyes.
I think I’ve only written in for one, two maybe? I honestly can’t remember, but I love it and you deserve all the praise. I know constructive criticism is important, but I can’t bring myself to find things that I don’t agree with.
Also, not me taking therapy advice from tumblr- like, what?!👀
I’ve been reading Running On Empty (and by reading I mean listening to the audiobook while I’m cooking dinner🙃) and I’m learning a lot. I’m the middle child and only daughter in a very dysfunctional boy family so I have actually found the recommendation helpful and I look forward to reading the others. Thanks, Dr. CO🫡
I don’t think I registered how much your story has creeped into my waking life until I found myself in the deodorant isle at target reaching for the Bearglove. The curiosity took over.😭 I am an Old Spice girl, but I’ve always done Timber w/ sandlewood or Oasis w/ vanilla notes. (If that says smth bad about me, sorry. I feel like I’m failing a personality quiz.) Anyway, you got me there. I think reading it right before bed has caused it to seep into my subconscious. And Wolfthorn- I can totally see it.😂
I know people normally send in memes for the story, but I did see this and think of you lmao
This is how I picture you in your time away.
I’m excitedly waiting for your next chapter and I can’t wait to start the reread.
I know you’ve had some transitions going on. I’m wishing you all the best and I hope you’re taking time to yourself to enjoy it!

This is so goddamn sweet. First of all. That's all I gotta say SO SWEET!! Before I get ahead of myself, I must reply to things in order so my brain doesn't nix something.
First of all: I'm not going to pretend I wouldn't love a reread and getting your thoughts-- I love your analysis! love your takes! i love everyones takes but yknow. i love your takes!! I'd also say, honestly-- I think after Chapter 13, re-reading is very fun because there's little bits that with the flashback in mind really make them hit a LOT harder!! hehehehehe
And listen critique is important and I myself have found a bunch of grammar errors/timeline errors that I will have to edit upon the series finishing but FOR NOW! WE WILL SIMPLY JUST ENJOY MY STUPID MEDIA CONTENT.
THE IDEA of someone taking anything from my little fic really means so much. Some of my favourites Qs are what's the rosemary water recipe? curly hair routine? etc etc. I'm happy to add books to the self-help list. CO IS A FUN NICKNAME IT TOOK ME A SECOND! I was like am i... a commanding officer? Yes. Yes I am. no i'm Carmenized Onions.
As the youngest daughter of an all boy family (and I mean. All boy. Cousins. All boys.) getting hit with the Running on Empty + It Didn't Start With You recc from my real doctor? Murdered. (I CAME IN THAT DAY TO ASK FOR MEDICATION ADVICE ON MY MIGRAINES BRO... WHAT!!!) I have also been listening to Running on Empty and yet to start It Didn't Start With You, but I'm sure it'll fucking kill me.
It's the little things,,,, it's the little things of creeping into the lives of strangers via changing their hair routines and giving them book reccs and making them feel like i am haunting them while they pick out deodorant.
TIMBER AND/OR OASIS ARE ALSO GOOD!! The wolfthorn thing comes from my real life of every real lesbian I know using it, however I think it got discontinued in some countries? Fucked up if true. Bearglove I had to do for Carmen because it's fucking Bearglove but the notes did seem like it would smell good. If you got it let me know if it is to your taste I'm curious.
that IS me! that's me on the fuckin subway absolutely dissapearing on my commute in my mind, making edits on the train.
Which speaking of, can I be so fuckin forreal? i'm struggling sm with this next chapter man i'm dying. no one volunteer but this onion might have to accept defeat and look for beta readers i'm fucking IN HELL!!!
it's probably just the massive life transitions talking. Life wise I'm doing great! Finally finished setting up/decorating/unpacking my room. I've got two roommates (my dear friends) and a cat, and this is the first time we've had SO much living space room, so we're slowly figuring all that tf out.
Who knows where to get a good kitchen island that isn't 600 dollars please. girl please. ikea failed me for the first time baby please.
again this was so so so so sweet and I can't wait to see thoughts pour in should they come should you choose to reread!! fuck it, WIP for u:
what the hell are they talking about!!!! LOVE YOU BYE!

hi star!! for the microfics how about asher and babe dying each other’s hair? or just a night of dying hair together?? 🩷
OMG that's a hilarious idea. I wish I knew how to dye hair at home lol. This will be kinda... inaccurate, I guess
—
"Babe—no—you gotta stay over the bathtub to rinse the bleach out," Asher said around a laugh.
"My neck is aching," I complained.
"Give me just a couple more seconds to get the rest out so we don't get it on your clothes, and then you can sit up."
I grunted and made a face. "Fine," I grumbled. "But you know you're gonna be even worse at this when it's your turn."
"Oh trust me, I know babe," Asher replied with a knowing wink while he ran his hand through my hair with the shower head following swiftly behind to get the last of the bleach out. "And you are now done. Go ahead and sit up. Let me grab the towel to put around your shoulders so we don't drip on your shirt." He leaned over me to grab the towel stained with one too many bleach accidents and pulled it around my shoulders as I sat up.
"Alright. Gloves and dye?" I asked.
"Hell yeah!" Asher got to his feet and snatched both off the sink. "Come stand in front of the mirror?"
I picked my way back to my feet and stood in front of him at the bathroom counter. "Be careful, yeah? We're not looking to get dye everywhere again," I said. "I barely got the stains out last time."
Asher laughed, pulling on the plastic gloves. "Don't worry, babe! Doctor Ash has got this! One-hundred-percent precision, every time!"
I snorted. "We both know that's a lie."
Asher cackled. "Maybe. But I'm going for it anyway. Wish me luck!" He squeezed the dye out of the tube and onto his palm before rubbing it around the gloves and lathering it into my hair. He was gentle in his movements, careful not to yank at my hair. My eyelids fluttered and rolled back a little. It felt good when he played with my hair.
"Excited for turning your tips blue, Ash?" I asked to keep myself awake. Drawbacks of dyeing hair at two in the morning—tiredness.
"Hell yeah! It's gonna look dope!" Ash laughed. "But yours first."
"Well yeah. I don't want a half-assed dye job. I just figured I'd ask.
Asher chuckled. "Yeah it's gonna look dope."
"I'm just glad I talked you out of the lime green."
"What? Are you saying I wouldn't look good with a reverse Billie Eilish look?" Asher teased.
"I didn't say that. "But with the natural black hair and the green tips... I don't know. I don't think the green suits the skin tone. The blue is a lot better."
"Nah. You're right. I'm just messin' with ya anyway, babe. The reverse Billie Eilish really only works on a winter and clearly I'm a summer."
"You don't know what either of those mean."
"Nope!" He cackled again while I rolled my eyes.
He finished lathering the dye into my hair and made sure it was all set up to sit and soak in for a while.
"My turn!" he said, dropping to the linoleum floor and bending back over the bathtub. "Time for my bleach!"
I laughed and knelt beside him. "Scoot over, you goof. I can't reach crammed against the wall like this."
He shuffled.
"Do you think you can hold still long enough for me to do this without screwing up?" I asked, tugging on his black curls.
"I got this!" he said confidently.
I grabbed the shower-head and the bleach bottle. "We'll see about that," I muttered.

Writing/Art Update 11.7.2023
Last week, I said I wanted to finish Chapter 3 this week, and I did it, I finished Chapter 3. It ended up being slightly easier than I thought because one of the scenes I thought was only half done was actually done. Then it ended up being slightly harder than I thought, because I was writing a scene and I was really struggling with it and decided that I needed to write one of the scenes from Chapter Four first, so I did that. Weirdly enough, this actually worked. It also means I got a scene from Chapter 4 done, although it feels a little off to me, so it may need some more work. I am very much in "just get something down on the page" mode, though, so it's fine. It's good.
Wordcount: 28,968 (+5,669/4,826 new)
I was busy with a lot of stuff this week, and it didn't feel like I had a lot of time to write, but I actually wrote a lot! I think I've actually gotten a little manic about this fanfic, in the sense that I feel driven to work on it all the time without actually, um, liking it? I mean, I have almost no feelings on it, aside from I Gotta Do It. It might be good. It might be back. That's none of my business. I told myself that after Chapter 4, if I wanted to, I could send it to the beta. Unfortunately, in order to do that, I gotta read it myself, first, and I'm not sure I'm emotionally prepared for that. So it sits in this Schroedinger's state of ::pigeon guy:: Is this...garbage? but I am trying not to think about that.
Anyway, I'm ahead of myself, I gotta finish Chapter 4 first. Unlike some of the other chapters, I don't have very much of Chapter 4 already written. I'm not really sure how it's gonna go, because the first scene of the chapter feels like it should really be the last scene of a chapter, but that's just the way it's going to be (unless it really isn't working and then I have to figure something out). On one hand, I think it's reasonable to give myself two weeks to write Chapter 4. On the other hand, it's already 4,600. On the third hand, there are seven scenes on the outline and only 1 and two halves of them are written, so maybe I really am going to have to figure something out. But that's this week and next week's problem.
I did not draw anything this week, either. I feel like maybe I should try to, but I really just want to let I-Gotta-Do-It brain cook for as long it can.

A Walk In The Park
Characters; unnamed characters A, B, and C from this and this
Content Warnings; pants/panty peeing, omorashi desperation, diaper mention (briefly)
✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿
It was a chilly, but fairly sunny, morning. Of course, A wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and take B and C out hiking.
C was still pretty sleepy while they pulled their outfit on, not really thinking about the fact it would still be pretty cold out. B normally liked wearing big, comfy clothes anyway, so they weren't too worried about keeping warm.
A tried to tell C to bring a jacket in case they got too cold, but C didn't really register the words before replying with a mumbled "mhm yeah," while they finished tugging on their boots. A shook their head, knowing they'd have to pack the extra for them instead.
Obviously they didn't mind, they could see how sleepy C was at the moment. A reasoned C would get a nap in the car and be rested enough for the hike, and if they were still tired, A would probably just let them piggyback so they could all still have a nice day together and C would get rest.
B already had their headphones on, standing at the door waiting for A to bring B along and them all to get going. They were sipping on a water bottle full of chocolate milk while they waited, fidgeting with the label occasionally.
Once everyone was ready, they headed out to the usual spot they liked to hike at. It was a fairly out of the way sort of place, but it was worth the long trip just to see the huge trees and breathtaking forestry.
B had finished their drink halfway through the drive there, and by the time they'd arrived, B could feel a slight pressure beginning to build in their bladder.
C seemed to have gotten a sufficient enough amount of rest to carry themself through most of the hike, but A had to keep a bit of an eye on them to make sure they didn't wander after a bug or lizard off the trail. They were so preoccupied with watching after C, they didn't even consider if either of them had had bathroom breaks before they left, although they kind of assumed.
B was walking a little slower than normal now, having had several water bottles given to them by A, and at least one thing of juice as well. They weren't sure how much further A had planned to go, bit they hoped they'd be going home very soon.
"A, I gotta piddle. I forgot to earlier," C, who was much more vocal than B at the moment, announced kinda loudly.
A looked over at them and chuckled, "I tell y'all every time to use the bathroom before we go out, do I gotta start packing diapers?" They teased lightly.
B's face was surely bright red now, their hands fidgeting with the font fabric of their skirt. They wanted to speak up about their need as well, feeling much fuller than comfortable at the moment, but they couldn't bring their lips to form the words. The very thought was almost enough to make them start to tear up a little, but they were just barely able to hold it back.
A suddenly noticed B's predicament, a look of concern immediately painting their features. "Oh, B, do you gotta go pee as well hun?" Their tone was gentle and soft as they went over to B.
B immediately froze up, stopping in their tracks, hands shooting between their legs to hold themself desperately, "mh! ah!" They whimpered, tears now streaming down their cheeks.
"Ah, I'm so sorry I should have made sure you used the bathroom before we left.. it's okay if you have an accident here, just go ahead and go hun, don't hurt yourself..." A tried to coax B into relaxing.
"If it'll help any, I'll piddle myself too!" C came up beside A, attempting to help with being comforting.
B's legs were shaking, and when they let out a slightly wheezed laugh from C's comment, their bladder decided to finally give out. Slowly at first, a few short spurts caused them to gasp slightly, then the rest began pouring out freely. Rivulets of urine streaming down their thighs and legs, staining their skirt slightly where they held themself.
C and A cooed words of encouragement throughout the whole ordeal, and soon after C noticed they also REALLY needed to go too.
"I, uh, I'm piddling..." They mumbled as they began leaking a bit.
"That's okay, go ahead and go too, we'll you two cleaned up when we get home." A offered with a hand on their shoulder.
Without further warning, C began wetting themself as well, soaking through their leggings for a full minute or two. They involuntarily let out a small moan and had to lean on A for support as their legs went slightly weak. They hadn't realized just how bad they'd had to go.
After C was finished, the trio headed back the other way down the trail, and when they got home A helped C and B get cleaned up. They all took a hot bath together in an extra large tub and then watched their favorite shows together on the couch snuggled underneath a big, soft blanket.

Maybe it's due to not having spoons (fibro and the heat are getting to me bad), but my mood is up and down, and my feelings about Seasons are going up and down with it?
I'm like, "Oh this part is cute and I'm excited to share it!" and "Cal, shut up, please, you're being annoying. Keep it to yourself!" No one has said I'm being annoying. I just get super self-conscious now, bc... history of being told I'm annoying. Also, it's rather recent that I'd tell my now-ex that I was excited about something - that I'd finished a first draft or gotten a map drawn - and she'd respond with stuff like, "Did you see the witch Bath and Body Works diffuser?" (I had to beg her to congratulate me. I would do so for her when she had accomplishments, but mine? Meaningless.) Back to Seasons, though. I've been anxious that it's too long. I'm not out to set some arbitrary word count limit here. I mean "Was this really necessary, or did you just get too self-indulgent, and now you have too many loose ends to tie up?" (This is exacerbated by my writing out of order and fearing I'll forget something by the end.) That's just my brain, there. Worried that I was excessive and have made a mess, rather than a coherent story. I'm also worried that I sound so egotistical now that I'm finding joy in talking about my writing/characters. (This ties in with the first issue, that I should "shut up" haha...) I had such a weird process for years. I enjoyed the process of creation, but I... thought I was shitting out garbage. Characters, writing style, story, everything. Someone once told me years ago that I wrote nothing but man babies, and someone else later said the same thing. Second person also said my writing style induced their synesthesia so they couldn't stand to read my stuff. There have been other things, those are just some examples. It's so painful. I don't feel like I can become a better author if I don't have helpful criticism, but I've certainly had the destructive stuff launched at me. I'm still working on myself. I was only 13 months ago I got self-conscious and decided to stop sharing any of my writing publicly, so I locked up everything on AO3 in a private collection, I deleted or hid everything on google docs and other sites. And I struggled to finish Rascal (which I posted the final chapter just a few weeks before that and then ended up locking it up, haha), and now I'm struggling a bit with Seasons. I don't always struggle with ending stories, but... sometimes I do, and it definitely sinks my mood. I'm lucky in that some people have found my writing and been supportive. I'd be fucked if I didn't have @yume-x-hanabi being so supportive and nonjudgmental. She's a good writing buddy. And I have another friend who also just checks out my writing despite meeting her through fandom as well, even picked up Seasons despite the heavy content. ;A; That's a blessing. But sometimes I'm still working on saying, "No, I do love myself and these things. It doesn't matter what other people have said. They're a few people. They were mean. They don't define you or your work." Still, it sneaks up on me and leaves me scared that I have more work ahead. That I need to get better and better now, because if I want a career out of this, I'm going to have to bust my ass. And it's funny... I do enjoy the process of writing, I love building characters and writing stories and creating lore. I just wish after it was all done, I wasn't fearful that I just hot-glued a bunch of steaming shit together, and I refuse to see it...? XD; (Sorry that's a disgusting mental image, but... it wouldn't hold together, is my point.) Anyway, sorry if you read this for rambling so much. It's kind of negative. I gotta cheer up. ;A;

Skating on Thin Ice - Chapter 2 - Part 2
*Warning - Adult Content*
Elijah Ellis
"How were tryouts today boys?" Dad asked as we all sat down at the dinner table.
I was in my usual spot beside Joshua and across from Mandy.
"Good," I replied blandly, twirling my pasta on my fork before taking a bite.
"Elijah was really good today," Joshua added, looking toward Dad.
"Even Fox said so."
My eyes went wide at that statement.
The same Fox who would only look at me with a glare or a blank expression?
The same Fox who pulled me into a closet and threatened me had something nice to say about me?
Needless to say, I was shocked.
"He did?" I asked, not even trying to hide my surprise.
Joshua nodded, though he didn't elaborate.
"That's great," Dad said with a smile to which Mandy kindly agreed.
"It'll be nice to have both of my boys on the same team this year."
"I haven't made the team yet," I reminded him with a pointed look.
"But you will," Mandy assured me, mimicking my tone.
"Trust me," Joshua started, taking a sip of his water before continuing...
"We are in dire need of good defense and you were the best one out there today. I'm sure your spot is guaranteed at this point."
While that was good to hear, I didn't want to get too far ahead of myself.
I knew I was good and had made an impression on Coach Silva but there were four more days of tryouts and anything could happen.
Especially if I did anything to upset Fox Ridley.
I wouldn't be surprised if I made one wrong move, Fox would decide I wasn't good enough and convince Coach Silva of it too.
*********
Once dinner was over, I headed up to my room to finish up some homework.
After about an hour of that, my cell-phone went off, signaling I had an incoming FaceTime from Trevor.
My eyebrows knitted together in confusion before I answered the call.
"Hey," Trevor greeted me with a wide smile on his face.
He looked like he was in bed, sitting against his headboard.
His usually gelled and styled hair was in its natural state, which I had never seen it in before.
"What's up?" I asked, not bothering to hide my confusion as to why he was calling me.
Trevor and I had only talked outside of school a few times in the month I had been here and those times were gatherings with other members of the GSA club, like Lexa and Nadia and a few others.
"Just wanted to see how tryouts went today," he answered casually, the smile never leaving his face.
It seemed like Trevor was always smiling.
He was definitely the friendliest person I met at Pine Valley.
"Oh," I said, clearing my throat and sitting up on my bed.
"They went well."
"Do you think you'll make the team?" Trevor asked, adjusting the position of his phone slightly.
"Joshua seems to think so," I told him with a slight laugh, looking at myself in the phone.
My hair was a mess due to raking my hands through it and pulling the ends in frustration at my homework.
There was a red mark on my cheek from where I had my head resting in my hand.
Overall, I looked rough.
"That's good," Trevor cheered enthusiastically, his eyes widening in excitement.
I just nodded in agreement, not knowing what else to say.
"There's another reason I wanted to call you," Trevor admitted after my silence.
"Hmm?" I hummed into the phone.
"A few of us from GSA are getting together at my house Friday night," he told me.
"Do you want to come?"
It wasn't the first time Trevor had invited me to a GSA gathering.
In fact, he had invited me to one my first week here.
I used to think it was just out of obligation to invite the new gay kid but I wasn't technically in the club anymore, so I was confused as to why he was inviting me now.
"Um," I started, my confusion evident.
"Sure, why not. What time?"
"Great. Everyone's coming around seven," he answered happily.
"We'll have food and movies and stuff. It'll be fun."
"Yeah, fun," I said, trying to sound enthusiastic but probably failing.
"Anyway, I gotta go. I'll see you at school tomorrow."
Trevor bid me a goodbye.
I sent him a wave before he hung up.
I sighed, tossing my cell-phone down on my bed before turning back to my frustrating math homework.

Amethyst - Chapter two
(Whoo-pee-doo! You finally get to have your first battle in this scene!)
"Danny!" I greeted my friend. "Meet Gladillum!" My Pokemon squeaked in delight as Danny's Pikachu jumped out of its Pokeball.
"Pika! Pika!"
"Gla! Glaaaaaaa!"
Danny and I both chuckled in unison. "Well looks like they're getting along just fine. Pikachu has been running me ragged already!" Danny bent over and flopped his hands out in a hilarious, exaggerated manner whilst fake panting.
"Haha, you're such a jammy so-in-so, Dan. Managing to get Pikachu before I could even leave the house!"
"Not my fault you're slower than a Slowking, pal! Anyway, you know what they say about when trainer's eyes meet!"
My heart began racing. This was it... after all these years... the moment had finally arrived!
You are challenged by Pokemon Trainer Danny!
Danny sent out Pikachu!
"Get ready to get smashed into oblivion, Y/N!"
"Go! Gladillum!" I swung my entire body around and tossed my Pokeball onto the ground as hard as I could, yet I stumbled a little.
"Haha, you're such a klutz, Y/N. Don't you realise everything in the anime is exaggerated?" Danny rolled his eyes, throwing out his Pokeball. Pikachu and Gladillum stood in front of each other, a daring twinkle in each of their eyes. The two Pokemon were both Level 5, to my relief.
"Gladillum! Use tackle!" Gladillum squeaked, before charging towards Danny's Pikachu, causing him to slightly wobble, but not enough to make him lose his balance. This attack took around 20% of Pikachu's HP. My breath hitched in my throat as I braced myself. I hoped that Danny hadn't taught his Pikachu any electric attacks yet. Then I'd be screwed.
"Pikachu! Quick attack!" Danny exclaimed. Pikachu positioned itself on all fours, then lunged at Gladillum. She flailed her little vine arms slightly, but the momentum wasn't enough to topple her. Pikachu let out a surprised squeal, as his HP slightly diminished. He had impacted with the red thorns on Gladillum's head and pricked himself.
Gladillum lost about a third of her HP from this attack. Danny clearly had the advantage here. I mentally cursed at him for always being one step ahead of me no matter what I did. "Gladillum, use Tangle!" Her arms suddenly began to get longer and longer, extending out towards Pikachu. They weaved around his ears and squished them. I couldn't help but laugh at the grumpy look on his adorable yellow face. Although this attack didn't do damage, it lowered Pikachu's special defence stat.
"I feel kinda bad for what I'm about to do. Gladillum's pretty cute. But this town is only big enough for one winner! Pikachu, use Thunder Wave!" Pikachu's cheeks began to glow, and a zap sound rung in my ears. Gladillum became paralysed. A victorious smirk glazed Danny's features as he crossed his arms. "How do you like that, huh? I feel like a billion electrons are coursing through my body right now!"
"Yeah, I feel the energy! Gladillum, use Quick Attack!" Channelling all of her power, Gladillum sprung forward, and bounced off Pikachu at an insane velocity. Even Danny's dark blue eyes widened at the power the attack had pulled. Pikachu's HP was now down to only one quarter.
"Whoa, where did you learn to pack punches like that, Y/N?! That's hardly fair! Pikachu, use tackle!"
Gladillum avoided the attack!
"Damn you're insane!" Danny yelled in disbelief.
"That's what you get for always putting me down! Gladillum, use Quick Attack!"
SLAM!!! Danny's Pikachu's HP was now down in the red zone! Just a little more!
"Crap, I gotta fix this up with a potion!" He began frantically rummaging around in his rucksack, and while he was distracted, Gladillum and I exchanged a knowing look, giving one final tackle to finish off Pikachu. By the time Danny had retrieved his potion from his rucksack, Pikachu had already fainted and gone back into his Pokeball.
I broke out in a cheesy grin. Gladillum looked up at my face and copied me. We both began jumping for joy! We had won!
You defeated Pokemon Trainer Danny!
"Did anyone see that?" Danny asked quietly. With his pride shattered, he slowly backed away from me, not knowing what else to say. He was completely stumped. It was priceless! He reached his hand into his pockets, and pulled out some money. He quickly grabbed my hand and shoved the money into my hand. "If anyone asks, you're the one that gave me the prize money. Got it?"
"I suppose it's a fair deal." I chuckled. "Now anyway, Arrowell is further down Route 1, yes?"
Danny pulled out his map, and nodded. "Yeah, that's where the first gym is. The grass gym."
A fun idea suddenly popped into my head. "Hey Dan, let's make a bet! Whoever is last to get the eight gym badges has to buy the other a luxury sized burger down at Pollux!"
Danny looked rather confused. "No, that's not how this works." He shook his head.
"How do you mean?" I asked.
"There aren't even eight gyms. There are only seven. Don't you read?"
"Ummm, no, I'm pretty sure there are eight gyms? The final gym being the psychic one in Opaquia, right?"
"Pft. Nobody's set foot in the Opaquia gym for years. And the last people who did never came back out again. Don't you remember? It was all over the tabloids!"
"Wait... so there are only seven gyms?"
"Well, technically, there are still eight, but the last one has been abandoned since the leader passed away."
"I don't understand... if the gym leader died, surely the Elite Four would find someone to replace them?"
Danny shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine." His smirk suddenly returned. "Actually, that idea about the Pollux luxury burgers ain't so bad after all. But just know I'll be the one winning, not you."
"We'll see about that. Anyway, I'm off to route 1 so I can get to Arrowell. Are you coming?"
"Nah, I'm gonna see if I can find more people to battle. Later, Slowpoke!" Danny rushed off in the opposite direction, leaving me alone with my own thoughts. I thought I might as well take this opportunity to assemble a team. If I was going to challenge Blade, the grass gym leader, I needed to assemble Pokemon of different types. Yet I couldn't focus properly. My mind just couldn't stop thinking about the fact that there were only seven gyms in Taldourse, not eight.
It just didn't add up. And the fact that nobody had successfully completed the gym challenge in years... what was the reasoning behind that? I couldn't shake these thoughts. And also, why didn't the Professor say anything about that? Why did he seem to be in such a hurry to get the whole enrolment process over as quickly as he could? And who were Team Moon? Did they have anything to do with this? So many questions...
"Glaa!" I looked down to my right to see Gladillum tapping me on the ankle, snapping me out of my thoughts. She seemed to have picked up on the fact I was lost in thought.
"Come on then, Gladillum, let's go find some friends for you!" She squeaked happily into response.
After a few hours of searching bushes, paths, secluded corners, caves, and under rocks, I had finally constructed myself a starter team. They included Pidgey, Ekans, Eevee, Pawmi and Blipbug. I made the choice to switch up my leader depending on who I would encounter in battle. There was a small stall a few yards down from where Route 1 started, and I took this opportunity to purchase some useful items, including potions, Pokeballs, paralyse heals, burn heals and the kind man even gave me two premier balls on the house. As I continued my way down Route 1, I noticed a shiny gold plate that had been hammered into the cliff wall. As I got closer, I realised that there were two named etched into the gold plate in fancy italics.
K. Castor
F. Castor
I immediately recognised these as the names of the two champions of the Taldourse region - Kossi Castor and his wife, Flossi Castor. The Elite Four had been in power for seven years at this point, and during this time, the Castors were the only two who were strong enough to defeat all four of them, thus securing their places as Taldourse's first Champions, and the beautiful Amethyst and Sapphire crowns that came along with the championship. The beautiful Champion's Crown was one of my favourite staples of Taldoursian culture, as it meant everyone who defeated the Champion's Trial would receive one. Female Champions would receive an Amethyst Crown, and Males would receive a Sapphire Crown. I smiled, envisioning the day where my name and initial were engraved in the same gold plate below the Castor champions, yet my smile quickly faded when I remembered the sad death of Kossi Castor two years prior. He had been only one of two Champions to exist in Taldourse, and now he was gone, at the tender age of 25. My heart broke for both him and Flossi, whose whereabouts had remained unknown since the tragic incident. The whole affair was shrouded in mystery. All we knew was that Kossi had died of fatal injury during a Pokemon battle, and his wife hadn't been seen since. Yet now I was thinking about all these questions, and wondered if this mysterious Team Moon had anything to do with it? Ah well, I had plenty of time to do my own pondering after I became Champion Y/N of Taldourse. I was determined that it would be me, not Danny or anyone else.
Me.

Finally had a Byler Dream™ (is that a rite of passage at this point?) and I woke myself up by being too excited to jump on tumblr and gloat about it before I even finished the episode... So in that spirit I'm going to share the dream with y'all because it was very intense. I've edited slightly for clarity bc dream logic, but don't take this as fanfiction or headcanon or anything cuz it does NOT actually make any canonical sense.
It started with some promotional material they had which we were trying to analyze. It was only in very blurry subtitles/some flash of Mike's internal landscape via the upside down that showed him being anxious abt his feelings towards Eddie for some reason, like showing he had a crush/need for approval from him. I managed to find some screencap that was more clear and seemed to be someone telling Mike something about taking pride in himself so I was like "oh that's 100% gay" and trying to post about it but it got removed because it was too much of a spoiler they'd accidentally released.
Then suddenly they had dropped the next episode of Stranger Things, out of the blue basically. I was watching it with a group of people and I'm pretty sure there was more than just the Byler but tbh that was the only part my brain tuned in on.
It went like this- Mike was paired off with Steve and Robin, and they had all gone to this strange facility to find something but were now stuck in the upside down. They had figured out that very intense emotions could re-open gates to escape the Upside Down, so they were sitting together trying to come up with memories they had that could help them. They went around, with Robin/Steve not being able to think of something quite strong enough even though they had some intense stuff. When it got to Mike, he said something about his feelings for a girl (for some reason it wasn't El, just a petty crush). Robin suddenly goes "come on, you're going to pull that straight romance shit here?". Mike is confused, Robin asks Steve to back her up but he sort of chimes in like "C'mon, I don't want to do that like this." Robin goes ahead anyways, and says "yeah, I bet all we'd have to do is to get you to read out your diary and the portal would start opening, there's gotta be some intense emotions in there all about Will". She's slightly mocking, she's pissed about being stuck in the UD/doesn't feel positively about Mike. Mike is still insistent he doesn't know what she's talking about although he's starting to get uncomfortable. Robin says that it's fairly obvious, finally gets Steve to back her up so he chimes in like "as a kind of surrogate big brother to all you kids, I've had to see the relationship between you two over the years... At first maybe it was just friendship, and maybe you could brush it off as Will feeling a certain way, but I've also seen you", and then it starts showing this montage thing of Mike/Will. It also does show Mike having a crush on Eddie to show it isn't just coming from Will. He goes on "it's your choice if you want to make it platonic, but you've been doing this to this poor boy for years, I hoped you knew what you were doing because I don't want to see Will get hurt". (He's taking on the role of Jonathan a bit here as well as Eddie in a way, apparently my brain can't tell the difference between brotherly older dudes with long hair). Mike is starting to realize now, freaking out, a sort of wind picks up around them/electricity is crackling and shit. He did know about his feelings, but he's freaking out about the idea of them being obvious to others and at the thought of confronting them, especially of telling Will.
Robin comes in a little more gently, maybe regretting how she had acted, saying something like "I know it's scary but you can't just keep running from it. You're the only one who can do this, you have to take some pride in yourself" (or something a little more heartfelt probably). Mike still pushes them both away, he's sort of sobbing at this point, and finally cracks start forming and a portal tears open. They manage to all get through the portal, back into the regular world, and somehow meet back up with the rest of the group. They're being questioned on what happened, but Steve and Robin only give the barebones of what they were doing and how they got out. Mike is still basically shellshocked by the whole situation, like still shaking, but trying to hide his tears and shit. He still hasn't met back up with Will.
I think either the episode ended there or I just paused cuz I was freaking out a little bit, but I pulled out my phone to check Tumblr and basically go "WE'RE FUCKING WINNING Y'ALL" and suddenly my brain went, "it's weird how early they released this" and then I was forcefully woken up. I was so excited though y'all I was fully sobbing too because in my brain it was being done very masterfully. In reality there's... Some flaws with the execution, but I'm glad I know now what it feels like to Win. Manifesting my dreams are at least mildly prophetic dkdkdj
#the emotions i felt yall i was so excited#anyways... someday#stranger things s4#byler#also sorry if this unreadable i literally JUST fanboyed myself awake
